Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why are your prices so low?
A: Because we manufacture the yarn and sell directly to you at factory direct prices.

Q: Will my yarn be from the same dyelot?
A: Dyelots change frequently so even though your current order will be from the same dyelot, the next order will most likely be from a new dyelot.

Q: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: The minimum order quantity is 200 grams.

Q: How much yarn is in a cone/ball?

A: The quantity of yarn on a cone or a ball is the same - 200 grams. The number of metres of yarn depends upon the ply - see specifications.

Q: What is your Returns Policy?

A: We offer a full exchange or refund on any of our products if they are returned within 14 days.

Q: Can I use any 8 ply yarn with any 8 ply pattern?

A: Yes as long as you always do a tension square. The quantity of yarn may also vary depending upon the number of metres of yarn on a ball.

Q: If my tension is different to the tension in the pattern, what should I do?

A: It is always important to knit a tension square. If there are more stitches than the pattern, use larger needles. If there are less stitches, use smaller needles.

Q: What is the difference between Colonial and Classic yarn?

A: Colonial is hand washable and Classic is machine washable. Otherwise they are both made from the same wool quality.

Q: Where does your wool come from and what type is it?

A: Our wool is grown in the central New South Wales region in Australia. We use Merino and Merino/Cross wool from 24 to 29 micron.

Q: What care instructions should be used for my garments?

A: Care instructions are on the label provided with each ball or cone of yarn.
